Hartwick College

Beginning in 1998 up until 2001 Hartwick College was my first college and first experience outside of knowing who everyone was. This is where I started to learn more about who I am and who I can become. I learned about what I can do for people and what other people can do for me. This was invaluable and will not be forgotten. Below is a listing of the different organizations I was apart of when I went to Hartwick College.

WRHO 89.7 is where it all started. I first signed up for WRHO in September 1998, within 1 month I had my first show: "Live from the Hawks Nest." This show was a two hour viewer call in show where viewers could request music and pick up their daily digest of information that would pertain to them. This is where I came up with a slogan: "The best of the best and you can forget about all the rest!" which began my broadcast career. This show was a daily show that lasted until May 2001.

Later on in the semester I began my play-by-play career with announcing the Men's Football Games on Saturday afternoon. This was part of Super Sports Saturday beginning with Men's Football and going to Men's Soccer then finally to Women's Field Hockey. This is where I really began to learn the ropes of broadcast. By May 2001, I had broadcast over 150 games including Men's Football, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse and Men's Baseball. This including both home, away and championship games.

Over my span at WRHO I had not only created and maintained a daily music show but was hosting many sports events and became the Sports Director at WRHO. This was quite an accomplishment. With this accomplishment I sown the seeds for a transition from being a Computer Science Major to a Broadcast Major. This was invaluable later as I worked my way into television.
